We were very happy with Le Standard design Hotel . It is a five minute walk from the Bastille metro which is convenient for connections , but also only took us ( myself and 12 year old god-daughter ) 15-20 mins to walk to Ile de la Citè. The whole area it is in is full of restaurants so no need to go further if you don't want to .
The staff were really friendly and really helpful, no trouble to sort wifi and baggage storage on our last day etc. The room was basically furnished but very clean, and perfectly adequate for our needs. There was a proper wardrobe, and little beside cabinets and a luggage rack . Shower was hot and the towels were good quality . I would have loved a kettle in the room. but I've stayed in four other hotels in Paris similar grade and none of them had kettles either . The beds were made up each day and towels changed if needed , without us asking . Bathroom was small but fine.
The self service breakfast was yummy and plentiful and constantly being topped up as we were there by a lovely lady who was smiley and happy to help. Pastries cooked fresh as she went along . There were pastries, yoghurts, cereals, toast , jams , cheeses, hams , fresh Tropicana fruit juice, coffee and hot chocolate . The tea was the only thing missing really, there were earl grey tea bags but very weak . I meant I take my own tea bags away but forgot as I think all of Paris is similar , if you are an English tea drinker like me that is !
Useful to know would be that there is a lift to go to all floors which have bedrooms , but NOT to the attic floor which is where the breakfast room is , you have to go up a staircase to access it . No problems for us , but could be for anyone who struggles with stairs, lthiugh if course the hotel may be perfectly happy for you to have your breakfast taken down to your room , I had no cause to ask .
Excellent value for money and I would definitely use again
